What drives me to the creation of sound is something that feels deeper than simply enjoying music. Sound has always been present throughout my life, so in many ways it feels like a natural part of who I am. Growing up, music was never something that existed only through headphones or speakers; it was part of the environment around me. My dad works as a sound engineer and has spent years creating and shaping sound, while my grandad has always had a strong connection to music. Because of this, there was rarely a time when music was not being played somewhere in the house. Conversations about songs, production, and creativity were common, making sound feel less like a hobby and more like a language that everyone around me understood.
As I grew older, my interest developed beyond simply listening to music. I became fascinated by how sounds are made and why certain sounds make people feel specific emotions. A single melody can create nostalgia, a distorted bass can create excitement, and a carefully designed atmosphere can completely change how someone experiences a film or game. The fact that something invisible can have such a powerful effect on people is something I have always found fascinating.
I think sound is one of the purest forms of expression. Before we understand language, we respond to rhythm, tone, and emotion. Sound has the ability to communicate ideas and feelings that words sometimes cannot. Whether it is the energy of jungle music, the texture of a synthesised sound, or the impact of a perfectly designed sound effect, each sound tells a story and creates a reaction.
For me, creating sound is about turning imagination into reality. It is the process of taking something that only exists in my mind and giving it a form that other people can experience. That ability to create emotion, atmosphere, and connection through sound is what continues to drive and inspire me every day.
